Episode 2: Mortal Election '08

She shoots ice from her vagina, that's the entire joke

EDITORIAL: Believe it or not, this comic took me months, not even kidding, to complete. You'd have thought perhaps for all that time invested in letting it sit untouched on my disk that it would be better. Quite honestly, it turned out better than I thought it would. But I digress to more imporant matters than discussing my artistic failures...

The farsical circus that is American politics continues to whittle down would-be clowns. I, for one, while starting to try and force myself to get into Obamania, to be a card-carrying member of the Obamafia, which you'll see below, still feel rather jaded about the whole thing...

This comic actually started off as a stand-up joke back when the primaries first began, complete with me mimicking John McCain 'Nam flashbacks on stage. Now that he's the Republican frontrunner, the cameo as Rayden (or perhaps he's really Vo Nguyen Giap, but that wouldn't be canonical!) felt right. The thought of him sneaking around a rice paddy in some forgotten southeast Asian jungle waiting to spring upon the combatants in our fantasy Mortal Kombat tournament was too good to pass up, really. Although he also looks a bit like this guy, so infer from that what you will. My other choice would have been Ron Paul as Jax, because we can't let that story die either.

A brokered convention would probably destroy all of the hope and goodwill that the Democrats have stoked thusfar. Visions of fat white guys in smoky backrooms sweating and greasing themselves up to negotiate delegates seems to me to be a bit...well, "counter to democracy". Certainly not a way to light a new beacon of hope for America.

While I fully understand that the Democrats can appoint whomever they wish to be their representative in November, it seems like they would be best suited letting the people decide. I believe that, for better or worse, the people's choice is Obama. At the risk of sounding biased, Obama is a very good orator. His stump speeches leave me feeling less apathetic and jaded than before I heard them, at least until I turn on the news again. Does Hilary make me feel that way? Notsomuch. But hey, at least she cries sometimes. Further, the bottom line for me is that they both are going to toe the Democrat party line on issues like health care, education, and social services at large. Why not vote for someone who seems to want to be there, instead of the one that thinks its their turn in line? Although, nepotism has seemed to work for the Republicans.

But hey, I could be drastically wrong. (I found an interesting article here. Not sure what else to say, other than its a pretty blatant article, and worth a read)
