Republicans Blast Pelosi on Seat Covers Request

Dateline San Francisco, CA - February 9, 2007

Coming in the midst of a swirling controversy over the request for a larger plane for Speaker Pelosi, House GOP representatives have opened yet another debate related to increased spending requests.

"Madame Speaker is out of control," said Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R - MO), "I sincerely doubt the American people will stand for this outrageous fiscal recklessness."

The latest flareup stems from Pelosi's request to hire additional restroom attendants in order to maintain a consistent supply of toilet seat covers for the House and Senate chambers. While the request seems innocuous enough, it has only served to add fuel to the growing fire raging across the aisles of Congress.

"I understand the issue," added Rep. John Boehner, the House Minority Leader, "Nobody likes to see an empty dispenser when they need to use the restroom. But the bottom line here is cost. Why does Speaker Pelosi want to increase spending, and inevitably taxes, on the American people just so her buttocks don't have to touch porcelain? Speaker Hastert's buttocks weren't too good to touch porcelain."

Even Karl Rove offered his opinion this afternoon, asking "...where does she plan on hiring more attendants from? I know I don't want my son to have to refill the seat covers for her convenience. The only way I can see this working is through an amnesty program for illegal immigrants."

House Democrats defended the measure, saying that it was not Pelosi, but rather the Sargeant at Arms who put forth the request. According to comments, the request was made citing security concerns, indicating that it was not in the country's best interests for Pelosi's buttocks and Sen. Clinton's balls to share an uncovered seat.

For WNN this is Nonstory Haha.
