Fox News Awarded Sloppy-Bobo for Journalistic Integrity
Dateline New York City - April 11, 2006
Rockefeller Center was abuzz today with rabid fans of Fox News,
all of whom gathered outside the Museum of TV and Radio to support
the station as it received the prestigious Sloppy-Bobo Award
for Journalistic Integrity.
"It is an honor to present Fox News, and Rupert Murdoch, with the
Sloppy-Bobo," announced Richard Suklips, Chairman of the Sloppy-
Bobo Foundation, "In their campaign for Fair and Balanced reporting,
Fox News has raised the bar of consciousness in mass media
communications."
Murdoch was not in attendance, however, accepting in his place was
a small group of Fox News' most highly recognizable anchors: Bill
O'Reilly, Neil Cavuto, and Brit Hume among others.
"It is an honor to receive this award", O'Reilly began, "I
would never have believed years ago that I would be standing here,
in this great shrine to TV and Radio pioneers, and receive...the
Sloppy-Bobo alongside such great friends, and in front of so many
fans."
Cavuto continued, "I too, would never have expected to be on this
end of the Sloppy-Bobo. I certainly would have thought that I would
be giving the Sloppy-Bobo far before I would be able to receive it.
This is indeed a great honor for Fox, and for all of us up here today."
Whenever the Sloppy-Bobo is given, it is a big event in New York.
However, today seemed to be much bigger, with the legions of Fox fans
gathered outside.
"I wish I could be in there, giving them the Sloppy-Bobo myself. God
Bless America!" said one fan, who's sentiments were echoed by almost
all in attendance. There was a seemingly endless line of eager onlookers,
many of whom carried pro-conservative, pro-Bush materials, who could
not wait to see their favorite Fox celebrities receive the Sloppy-Bobo.
So on behalf of all of us at WNN, congratulations to Rupert Murdoch, Bill
O'Reilly, and the entire Fox Team, on finally receiving your first
Sloppy-Bobo.
