Chevron Now World's Second Largest Economy

Dateline Texas - April 29, 2006

Posting first quarter profits of over 4 billion USD, up 49% from last year, Chevron has now surged past ExxonMobil to become the world's second largest economy, trailing just the United States. China stands in fourth.

"We are, without a doubt, happy about this development," Chevron CEO David O'Reilly commented, "We are hoping that the falling American dollar, which we have certainly encouraged by porking the American taxpayer for all they are worth, will help propel us into first place by next quarter."

Indeed, if profits continue to grow at this pace, while the average American citizen tries to keep up while seeing their income become less and less valuable, Chevron could easily outpace the United States in Q2, 2006.
