President Bush to Deploy Troops to US/Mexico Border

Dateline Washington, DC - May 14, 2006

President Bush is expected to announce Monday that he is authorizing the use of National Guard troops along the US/Mexico border in response to the growing immigration crisis.

"Well, its not so much an 'immigration solution'," said an anonymous source inside the White House, "The President is hoping that the men and women of our National Guard can provide an escort for these future laborers to make the trip safer."

Indeed, the journey for these brave men and women 'illegally' crossing the border can be treacherous, and smugglers often take advantage of the poor immigrants. Often leaving them in no condition to be further exploited by upper-middle class homeowners needing small construction jobs done.

Support for this plan is mixed, however, on Capitol Hill.

"What in the world are we talking about here," said Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., "Sending a National Guard ...down to protect our borders? That's not their role*. Its right here in their mission statement:

'We are not employed to guard the nation, or stop cheap labor from entering our country illegally. The National Guard is, instead, to be used solely as supplemental forces in times of imperialistic or resource-based warfare. May also be used as a police force in unstable regions.'

See, totally irresponsible behavior by the President."

We at WNN will be eagerly awaiting the President's remarks. For WNN, this is Thehit Sjustkeepcoming reporting.
