Is Ted Kennedy a Threat to America?

Dateline Martha's Vineyard - May 23, 2006

Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) today sharply criticised Sen. Ted Kennedy over comments that Kennedy has made about the Iraq war. Saying that he was giving Al-Qaeda "ways to polticially divide our country".

"When you talk about Abu Ghraib as being the same as reopening Saddam's torture chambers as Ted Kennedy did..." Ensign said, "Those types of inflammatory comments do our nation harm, and they build support for the terrorists around the world."

Ensign continued to say that it is irresponsible to "give recruiting help to the terrorists" by making America look unethical and war-mongering. He also reaffirmed that Kennedy should be listed on the no-fly terrorist watch list because "...he's a man who is too drunk to find his pants half the time, do we really want him on a plane with free booze?"

"In effect, I believe Ted Kennedy is drunk behind the wheel. If he is not careful, then we just may end up going off a bridge and barely being able to escape, but unfortunately not in time to save our date, who we will forget about until we sober up the next morning and realize we left to drown...we being the country...of course."

Many have openly asked if this is just early pandering by Ensign in an attempt to gain momentum for a possible run at the 2008 presidential nomination. Ensign replied to his critics by saying, "Would anyone really vote for a President from Nevada?"

For WNN this is Godbless Nevada reporting.
