GOP Leaders Gather to Remember 9/11

Dateline - New York, NY September 11, 2008

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it'd still be a giant crater in Lower Manhattan Joining together for a touching moment of silence commemorating the attacks of September 11, GOP leaders today met with victims of the tragic attacks and shared somber memories.

"I have heard that many Americans feel safer and more secure now than they did on the painful morning of 9/11," said GOP Presidential Candidate John McCain from Ground Zero, "But the gaping maw that stands before us, collecting rainwater, should serve as the greatest memorial that we must never forget these attacks, and must remain ever vigilant to the threat that could be hiding around any and every corner. I am a man who understands these challenges, having had that same fear while being held as a POW during Vietnam. We must never forget that this is the most important issue facing us today, fear of terrorists and what they may do to our families."

McCain was followed at the podium by VP Candidate Sarah Palin, fresh off her intensive 3 day seminar in Karl Rove's policy dungeon.

"If I would have been Vice President in 2001, I would have told Al Qaeda 'No thanks' to that attack on 9/11," she said, "But on this darkest of anniversaries, we just have to be thankful that these attacks allowed us to fulfill God's will and bring us one step closer to rapture. Once we bring back the Messiah, we'll see that these people's lives will not have been lost in vain!"

Its easier to remember 9/11 if we never fill in the hole... The ceremony concluded with former NY Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who tried to lighten the mood with some of his own brand of comedy.

"9/11. Nine. eleven. What else really needs to be said, about 9/11? heheheheehe. To me, 9/11 is about courage. The courage of the brave firefighters who charged up into those towers only to come tragically tumbling back down afterwards, hehehehehehe. Perhaps if Barack Obama would have spent less time...hehehehehe...organizing communities, and more time exhibiting the courage like the kind I showed speaking in front of the Manhattan skyline last week at the convention, 9/11 might never have even happened! hehehehehe."

For WNN, this is Wooohaaaaa Nineeleven reporting.
