Gen. Petraeus Smelts What He Dealt
Dateline - Washington, DC December 10, 2007
During a key moment in his press conference Monday, Gen. David Petraeus, controversial commander of the Allied Ground Forces in Iraq, briefly paused, made an awkward face, then excused himself from the podium in a hurried fashion. Despite early denials, sources inside the Pentagon have confirmed for WNN that Gen. Petraeus did, indeed, crap his pants.
"He had intended to ease the pressure a bit," said the anonymous source, "But the ensuing surge was unexpected, and he hadn't time to plan an effective suppressive movement. David said that he felt something turning the corner, and that once it saw a light at the end of the tunnel there was no way to stop it. He just had to keep his head down and keep moving [off of the stage]."
The source went on to say that attacks such as this one were on the decline, citing Petraeus' increased personal funding for anti-IED (Inadvertent Excremental Discharge) devices and training.
